At about 10 a.m. on July 15, 2021, Shenzhen Qianhai international commercial mediation center and Yiwu people's court signed a framework agreement on cooperation in multi dispute resolution online.

Yiwu people's court is the first grass-roots court with jurisdiction over foreign-related commercial disputes of first instance in China. Since its establishment, it has accepted more than 2000 cases. In September 2020, Yiwu officially joined the "circle of friends in the pilot free trade zone". As the capital of small commodities in the world, Yiwu has the world's largest small commodity market. In this context, there are many international commercial disputes in Yiwu. In the first half of the year, Yiwu people's court accepted 214 international commercial disputes (including intellectual property cases).

Chen Chengjian, vice president of Yiwu people's court, believes that the successful signing of this cooperation agreement is a strategic achievement reached by the two sides on the basis of preliminary communication, and also an important measure to jointly guarantee and serve the construction of the free trade zone and promote the construction of Zhejiang common prosperity demonstration zone. It contains the following important meanings: first, explore the upgraded version of international commercial mediation, which can further strengthen the governance of litigation sources; The second is to seek the internationalization of litigation and mediation mode and further promote the construction of Yiwu free trade zone; The third is to ensure the normalization of the working mechanism and the construction of the demonstration area of common prosperity.

Gao Shu, chairman of the mediation center, pointed out that this signing is the first time that the mediation center has established cooperative relations with judicial organs outside Shenzhen since its establishment. This measure is of symbolic and pioneering significance. Yiwu has a broad commodity market, which is exported to home and abroad. The field of foreign affairs has developed vigorously in depth. The business environment under the rule of law is a subject worthy of study. It is hoped that the two sides can take this opportunity to carry out diversified dispute resolution through cooperation, realize the substantive docking of litigation and mediation, and improve judicial credibility and social identity.

The cooperation between the Yiwu people's court and the mediation center is the first time that the Yiwu people's court has incorporated the commercial mediation organization into the litigation mediation docking mechanism, which will further improve the effectiveness of the court's litigation source governance, so as to promote the transformation and upgrading of the diversified resolution mechanism of contradictions and disputes. Through cooperation, the two sides can realize the co construction and sharing of mediation talent resources, improve the professionalism and internationality of mediation, broaden their horizons and provide advanced experience and practices for increasing the governance of litigation sources of international commercial disputes in the free trade zone.
